Speaking at a press conference in Janakpur on Monday, Gajurel said, "CA polls will not be held on the stipulated date whether our 18-point demand is met or not."
"Even if our demands are fulfilled, the election must be postponed," he added.
He also reiterated that the party will disrupt the poll process if its demands are ignored. [break]
Referring to media reports about wrangling within the party, Gajurel said that there were no factions in the party. "We all are united when it comes to not joining the poll process under the prevailing circumstance," he said.
Reiterating the party´s stance that it was in favor of meaningful CA polls, he added his party favors constitution drafting process through the CA.
Accusing the four major parties for the possible failure of upcoming CA polls, he, nonetheless, added that the new constitution can be drafted through other means as well.
On a different note, he accused UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of befooling the Madhesi people.
"Sometimes he (Dahal) claims to be son of Madhes, and that he has been in love with Madhesi people, but all his statements are just aimed at playing with the Madhesi people´s sentiments," said Gajurel.
