Niraula, rated 2014, defeated Rajan Chhetri, rated 1968, in the tenth round to add 8.5 points with 46 progressive points. With this win, Niraula bagged Rs 25,000 cash prize and a trophy.
Keshav Shrestha (45 progressive points) and Prem Krishna Maharjan (43 progressive points) stood second and third, respectively with 8 points. Both of them won Rs 12,500 cash prize and trophy. Shrestha crushed Deergha Raj Joshi while Maharjan stunned national champion Badri Lal Nepali in the tenth round. Likewise, Rajendra Prasad Shrestha, Rajan Chhetri and Ratna Byanjankar stood fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. They bagged Rs 6,150 cash prize.
In the unrated category, Prachanda Malakar stood first with 37.5 progressive points. Baburaja Maharjan and Rijendra Rajbhandari stood second and third respectively with 37.0 progressive points. All of them won cash prize of Rs 2,166 each.
Sangita Jaiswal registered first position in the women´s category while Tara Ghale stood second. they won Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 cash prize, respectively. In the U-19 category, Prakash Nepal and Krishma Kayasth stood first and second respectively. Likewise, Rupesh Jaiswal and Shubh Kalyan Shrestha stood first and second in the U-15 category.
Punyaman Karmacharya was adjusted Best Veteran. Karmacharya got a cash prize of Rs 2,000 while Triratna Shakya got Rs 1,000 cash prize after coming second in Veteran´s Category.
The six-day long tournament was participated by 142 players form 45 districts.
