Mustang-Kathmandu night bus service comes into operation
With the launch of this service, it is expected to ease the burden on commuters who otherwise have to pay high fares for taxis or private vehicles at night.
The service is expected to be particularly beneficial for citizens affected by rising fuel prices, night-shift workers, and passengers entering the Valley from major entry points such as the Airport and Kalanki. The routes also connect more than 10 major hospitals and ensure easy access to key areas like Thamel, Durbar Marg and Jhamsikhel.
Giving high priority to passenger safety, all buses are equipped with CCTV cameras and will be monitored live from Sajha Yatayat’s central control room. Coordination has also been arranged with concerned agencies to ensure the presence of municipal police.
Passengers will be able to track real-time bus locations through the Sajha Plus mobile app, helping them better manage travel and waiting time.
According to Chief Executive Officer Bhupendra Aryal, the buses are also equipped with a passenger information system and free Wi-Fi for commuters.
