The price for a live goat weighing up to 20 kg has been set at Rs 256 per kg and those weiging between 20 kg to 25 kg at Rs 270 per kg.

“We have sold more than 250 goats during the last three days,” he said.

Similarly, goats weighing more than 25 kg have been priced at Rs 278 per kg. Last year, NFC had sold goats weighing up to 20 kg for Rs 240 per kg, between 20 kg to 25 kg for Rs 245 per kg and over 25kg for Rs 250 per kg. Though NFC had aimed to collect 6,000 goats, only 2,777 were procured due to scarcity of goats in the market.
