KATHMANDU July 28: Continental Associates, the authorized distributor for Kia Motors, has unveiled the upgraded versions of Rio hatchback and sedan in the Nepali market.

Unveiling the all new Rio, Suhrid Ghimire, president of Continental Group of Companies, said the company has given minute attention on interior as well as exterior design. “Four bulb MFR projection lamps, prominent rear combination lamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, sunroof (only available in automatic transmission) along with aerodynamic body design complements the luxurious, roomy and comfortable environment inside the cars,” Ghimire said. Continental Associates started selling Kia Rio in Nepal in 2008. So far, it has sold 250 Rio sedans and more than 400 Rio hatchbacks.

Ghimire assured that Nepali customers will feel great pleasure with all the design and safety features of the new Rio.

Issuing a press statement, Continental Associates claimed that premium features and advanced technologies in the new Rio will raise the bar in respective segments.

The all new Rio is a compact mid-sized car equipped with 1.4 L Gamma engine with Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPI) technology. The engine delivers 107 PS of power at 6,300 rpm and 13.8 Kgm torque at 4,200 rpm.

“Since the Gamma engine is built with light weight die-cast aluminum, it maximizes fuel efficiency and reduces carbon dioxide emission,” Sandip Chachan, executive director of Continental Associates, said.

The newly launched Rio has Motor Driven Power Steering that makes the handling very light. “The high suspension allows Rio drivers to navigate all types of Nepali streets conditions without worrying about ground clearance,” said Chachan.

According to the company, the new Rio gives a new definition to superior comfort and convenience. “More entertainment options and vastly improved connectivity for all types of personal electronic devices including Bluetooth support, improved air conditioning, heating and cabin-air treatment technologies give a new meaning to convenience,” said the statement.

According to the company, new Rio hatchback and sedans are available in three variants each. The EXII and above variants of both hatchback and sedan are equipped with driver and passenger Airbag and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

The price of new Rio starts from Rs 3.25 million. Continental Associates provides three-year (equivalent to 100,000 km ride) warranty on these cars.
