New Diamond, which defeated Nepal APF Club in its first match of the league, edged past Nepal Police Club 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 on Wednesday at the National Sports Council Covered Hall. It was the first occasion that New Diamond has defeated Police Club in the history of domestic volleyball. [break]
Police Club was considered as the tournament favorite before the beginning of the league but it is yet to open account on the points table. Police Club had lost its first match against Western Region Volleyball Training Center in straight sets.
Following the win, New Diamond is on the top of the table with five points from two matches while Western Region is in the second position with three points from a match. APF has a point on the points table.
As per the tournament regulations, if a team wins with straight sets victory or within four sets, it gets three points. If the match ends only after five sets, winner gets two points and the loser gets a point.

In men´s section, APF beat Western Region Volleyball Training Center 25-15, 25-16, 25-22 on Wednesday to remain on the top of the points table. Following three consecutive straight-set victories, APF has nine points on the points table.
Nepal Police Club is in the second place with six points from two matches. Police Club pulled off a 25-16, 25-22, 25-10 victory over Nepal Army on Wednesday.
Likewise, G-4 Sports Club registered second win in the league as it defeated University Sports Association Nepal (USAN) on Wednesday in straight sets. All the three sets ended in identical scores of 25-16. G-4 is in the third position with six points from three matches. Nepal Army is the fourth with three points while Western Region and USAN are yet to open their accounts on the points table.
The tournament, organized by Nepal Volleyball Association, features top six men´s teams and top four women´s teams of the NVA Cup Volleyball that concluded in September 2012.
