Addressing a mass meet at Attariya village in Kailali district Monday, Dahal said that the agitating Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist cadres have no strength to foil the election process. "No force can stop CA elections on November 19 as the country is fully geared up for the polls," added Dahal.[break]
He then went to claim that the upcoming CA would prepare a draft of the new constitution within its first six months and it will be promulgated within a year after resolving all contentious issues.
Dahal reiterated that political instability in the country will worsen if his party is not given a clear majority in the elections. He then asked one one and all to vote for the UCPN (Maoist) to prevent the nation from slipping into crisis. "Give us your votes and we will give you a constitution and development."
"Our party is committed to ending the discrimination and oppression imposed by the central state authority," added Dahal.
Dahal claimed that the former CA was dissolved after the political parties failed to forge consensus regarding the state-restructuring and the form of governance. The second CA would move ahead on the basis of the political understandings reached in the past and write the new constitution, he added.
Dahal has already addressed people in Bajura, Achham, Dadeldhura, and Doti districts as part of his election campaign.
