Nepse gains 3.16 points<br/>Gold, silver touch new record

KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued to fluctuate despite no major upheaval in trading for the last few days. [break]



The benchmark Nepse rose marginally by 0.56 percent or 3.16 points to close at 564.98 points at the end of Tuesday´s trading. Nepse had lost 5.12 points on Monday´s trading to close at 561.82 points after gaining marginally on Sunday.



During Tuesday´s trading, Sensitive index, the indicator of trading of Class ´A´ category companies, gained 1.09 points to touch 141.5 points. The sub-index of Development Bank group was the largest gainer on Tuesday´s training, gaining 5.96 points to close at 620.41 points. Banking group, which holds significant influence in the country´s secondary market, saw its sub-index gain 3.95 points to reach 541.46 points. Similarly, the sub-indices of Finance and Others groups also gained 0.57 points and 2.35 points to close at 599.76 and 607.43 points respectively.



However, Hydropower and Insurance groups lose 0.27 points and 9.3 points to close at 818.83 points and 593.12 points respectively.



Total turnover during Tuesday´s training was recorded at Rs 72.72 million with 207,912 units of shares and 60 scrips changing hands. On Monday, total turnover was Rs 56.87 million with 100,476 units of shares and 56 scrips being traded through 1,042 transactions.



Total market capitalization on Tuesday also went up to Rs 413.42 billion from Rs 411.10 billion recorded on Monday.





Gold, silver touch new record



KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Spurred by skyrocketing international prices, gold and silver prices in Nepali market continued to touch new high, indicating that that this year´s wedding season would be economically tougher for those who are planning to tie nuptial knots.



Price of gold, which holds significant chunk in wedding expenses in Nepali society, rose to Rs 27,305 per 10 gram or Rs 31,850 per tola (11.664 grams) -- an all time high amid string of new records in the price yellow metal in international market. Earlier, gold had set a new high of Rs 27,135 per 10 grams in domestic market on November 12.



Traders said strengthening rival currencies against US dollar is the key reason behind the ballooning price of gold in international bullion market. The gold price was hovering around $1,140 per troy ounce on Tuesday, after touching a new high of $1,143 per troy ounce in international market.



Similarly, silver prices also touched a new high of Rs 450 per 10 grams in domestic market on Tuesday. Earlier, silver had set a new high of Rs 443 per 10 grams on October 14.





Preventive vehicle maintenance products unveiled



KATHMANDU, Nov 17: BG Nepal Pvt Ltd has introduced preventive vehicle maintenance and engine and operative system clean-up products from Kansas-based PG Products Inc.



The products include coolants and cleaner products for radiators and fuel injection systems. The fuel additive products will clean up fuel injection or induction system machines.



By cleaning up the soot and deposits in injectors, intake valves, ports and combustion chambers, the products will increase fuel efficiency and reduce harmful emissions plus increase the life of the system and restore performance, BG Nepal said in a statement.



It also has products for diesel injection systems and coolants which also clean up the radiators.
