Nepali cricket team leaves for Malaysia

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The Nepali under-19 cricket team has left for Malaysia to take part in the ACC U-19 Premier Trophy on Wednesday.



Studded with all-rounders and eyes set on the tiltle, the team has flown to the destination by a Malaysian flight.

The team consists of seven all-rounders who can both bowl and bat in Malaysia where playing condition is expected to be similar to Nepal.

Spinners Prem Tamang, Sandeep Sunar and Sunil Dhamala as well as fast bowlers Aarif Sheikh, Yogendra Singh Karki, Dipendra Singh Airee and Saurav Khanal are the all-rounder performers from Nepal.

The batsmen are skipper Raju Rijal, Aashish Dhami, Shankar Rana and Rajbir Singh.

Dipesh Shrestha is expected to be given responsibility of fast bowling, while Sushil Kandel and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi are good spinners of the ball.


The tournament is scheduled for August 28 to September 3 to be held in Kuala Lumpur's Kinrara Oval, Bayuemas Oval and Club Aman.
