Meanwhile, the 18th Asian Championship set to begin from Tuesday in Guangzhou will feature four Nepali athletes. Hari Rimal and Tilakram Mahato in men´s section and Pramila Rijal and Keshari Chaudhary in women´s section will compete in the championship. Jeetendra Chaudhary is the coach and Bhairav Shahi is the manager of the Nepali team.
Nepal´s participation, which was uncertain due to lack of finance, was fixed at the last moment after the National Sports Council decided to sponsor tickets for three persons.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of Nepal Amateur Athletics Association Rabi Rajkarnikar has been elected the member of the AAA. Rajkarnikar got 34 out of 38 votes in the election held on Monday. Rajkarnikar is also the member of the Nepal Olympic Committee.
