Nepal to host AFC Challenge Cup group

KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Asian Football Confederation (AFC) endorsed Nepal´s proposal to host group stage matches of the AFC Challenge Cup 2012.

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has proposed the hosting rights and AFC recently handed over the opportunity to host Group ´D´ matches of the tournament.[break]

Nepal is slated in the group along side North Korea, Sri Lanka. Playoff winners between Bhutan and Afghanistan will join the group.

According to ANFA, Group D matches will be held on the Dasharath Stadium and Armed Police Headquarter Ground in Kathmandu from March 21 to 25, 2012.

"We are preparing for the tournament as host nation and already booked both the grounds for the games," said Indra Man Tuladhar, CEO of ANFA.
