KATHMANDU, May 28: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) on Tuesday expressed serious concerns over the political parties’ decision to downsize the Constituent Assembly (CA) strength and incorporating the eligibility threshold in allocation of seats under the proportional representation quota in the proposed election laws and regulation.

Issuing a press statement today, NEFIN has also demanded to withdraw such provisions and stick to earlier electoral laws.[break]

Terming the May 28, as the black day, it has accused political parties of conspiring to dissolve the erstwhile CA to foil the constitution drafting process as it was certain to recognize the rights indigenous, ethnic groups, women, Dalit, Muslim, Madhesi and handicapped, marginalized communities and among others.
