GAIGHAT (Udayapur), April 11: Minister for Urban Development and central member of Nepali Congress Narayan Khadka has said the NC was making decisive efforts to bring the opposition parties, including the UCPN (Maoist) in the dialogue table so that the consensus would be built for constitution.

Speaking at a press meet organized by Nepal Press Union Udayapur Chapter on Sunday, Minister Khadka said the NC President and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala was taking decisive initiatives to narrow down the differences on constitution writing.

"He is holding extensive talks with the opposition, which would yield in positive results" he added.

According to him, the parties' contradictory views on whether to incorporate two districts of the east and three of the far-west regions in the hilly or Terai provinces foiled the consensus atmosphere. But, the talks under PM's initiatives would resolve problems, he hoped.

On a different note, he argued that present President of the party could be elected again for next stint through the coming 12th General Convention to be held in July. RSS
