The NC has called for compulsory presence of all its lawmakers, considering likely tabling of the bill on the 11th amendment to the interim constitution at the House meeting. [break]
Major political parties have been trying to make the amendment to the statute, an act that would allow a team of experts to make suggestion on the model of state restructuring to be adopted in the new constitution.
Several lawmakers, mostly from the janajati community and the Mohan Baidya faction of the UCPN (Maoist) have, however, stood against the proposed bill, arguing that the formation of the experts´ panel would infringe on the jurisdiction of CA.
The House requires a two-thirds majority vote to endorse the statute amendment bill.
