KATHMANDU, July 7: Nepali Congress (NC) on Tuesday asked Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to work toward booking the guilty involved in various incidents of murder and violence. The prime minister had earlier promised that he would bring such persons to justice.

The NC submitted a letter at the Prime Minister Office (PMO) in Singha Durbar to book the guilty and provide compensation to the victimized families as per the recommendations made by judicial probe commissions formed over Surkhet, Dang, Kapilvastu, Solukhumbu and Darchula incidents. All these incidents occurred during the Constituent Assembly (CA) election last year.

The NC has also asked the prime minister to ensure effective law and order situation saying Maoist cadres have been attacking rival party cadres including NC workers. The party has also asked the prime minister to resolve border disputes.
