Locals and other political parties are likely to vote for CPN-UML candidate Lilanath Shrestha. “Dahal is unlikely to win from our constituency. The winner should be from our district so we will vote for Shrestha,” said a local.[break]
Another local said, they are ready to vote for any candidate other than Dahal. “Many political parties and candidates have joined forced to defeat Dahal,” said Jiwacha Sah, district leader of CPN-UML. “Other major parties, including NC and UML, and many candidates are likely to vote for UML candidate.”
Dahal and Shrestha are equally strong candidates. Nepali Congress candidate Rampari Kumari Yadav is from another constituency though she is in the race from constituency 1. “So, Shrestha has a stronger chance of beating Dahal,” said a local.
Locals said Dahal had disappointed them as he did not spend time with the locals during his visit to the district last week. “All the major political parties are in my favor,” claimed Shrestha.
