Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of the 66th day of Nepal Women´s Association affiliated to the Nepali Congress in the capital city on Sunday, President Koirala said, "Election will not stop from taking place just because one threatens against it ," he said, adding, "The CA election will be held on the stipulated date." According to him discussions with the dissenting political parties, including the CPN-Maoist, was continuing and genuine demands could be addressed.
"Election is essential to democracy. But I wonder why those believing in democracy are hesitating to embrace the elections," said President Koirala.
He further shared that the NC would increase seats for women in the coming CA elections. Leader Koirala also urged the cadres to make homework for making the party biggest one after the elections.
At the programme, President Koirala honoured 101-year old Kanchhi Maya Lohani.
On the occasion, Central Chairperson of Nepal Women´s Association Dr Dila Sangraula demanded that the NC provide 50 percent seats to the women.
Central members Arjun Narsing KC and Narahari Acharya requested all to help make the CA elections a success.
