NC Mahasamiti meet concludes

NAWALPARASI, April 11: The Nepali Congress (NC) Mahasamiti meeting held at Tribendham, Nawalparsi concluded on Thursday afternoon, deciding to revise the political paper presented by party Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel.



The meeting has also  formed a nine-member committee to revise the paper incorporating the suggestions given by the Mahasamiti members during the four-day meeting. However, the meeting has endorsed other papers. [break]



In the meeting, various members had put-forth their feedback and suggestions on the political paper presented by Poudel.



On his political paper, Poudel had proposed a federal model, comprising seven or 13 provinces. A majority members had put forth their opinion on not to delineate more than seven federal provinces in the country.



The meeting concluded after the top leaders addressed the concluding ceremony in which the leaders stressed on party unity. In the program, leaders claimed that nothing could defeat the NC if they could establish a strong unity within the party.



Referring to the upcoming elections, they said, “The election is a do and die issue for NC´s existence. The issue of nationality and democracy would be strengthened only if NC wins upcoming elections.”
