LALITPUR, June 14: The central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress called for Monday has been postponed due to busy schedule of the leaders, according to chief office secretary of the party Ram Chandra Pokharel.

However, central member Govinda Raj Joshi said the meeting was put off after failing to reach agreement on disputes in the party’s district committees and other important issues.

The meeting was scheduled to form additional committees to prepare for the upcoming general convention of the party. The meeting was also scheduled to discuss shifting the date for holding local level conventions of the party as the earlier date set for the purpose coincides with main rice transplanting season.

The party has decided to conclude local conventions within June.

The meeting has now been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
