Transport services, local markets and educational institutions, among other businesses, have remained closed on Wednesday due to the strike.
A resident of Bharatpur municipality-10, Poudel, died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu. He succumbed to fatal injuries he received when he was attacked with sharp weapons.
Poudel was a member of NC student body Nepal Student Union’s college chapter in Birendra Multiple Campus, Bharatpur. He was also a construction entrepreneur. The NC has said the attack was politically motivated. However, police has claimed that his personal financial dealing was the reason behind the attack.
