NSFA officials take charge
Meanwhile, the Nepal School Football Association (NSFA), formed by NSC under the School Sports Development Board, has announced to organize National School Level Football Tournament in near future. NSFA President Karma Chhiring Sherpa made the announcement on Friday at a function organized to hand over appointment letters to the officials of the association.
Sherpa, who is also the vice-president of All Nepal Football Association, said NSFA would conduct its activities with cooperation from NSC and ANFA.
Speaking on the occasion, NSC Member Secretary Lama said the school sports associations are formed to develop the respective sports from grassroots level.
Meanwhile, ANFA President Ganesh Thapa suggested to NSC and NSFA to name it as a committee rather than an association. ´The word association could create confusion as a parallel body to the national association of the concerned sport,´ said Thapa. However, he expressed commitment to support NSFA programs in the future.
The NSFA executive committee includes principals and directors of various schools. NSFA President Sherpa informed that the executive committee would comprise 45 members though there are only 38 members at present. Sherpa said the executive committee would get full shape within a few days.
