National Assembly meeting today, five ordinances to be tabled

KATHMANDU, March 6: The National Assembly has begun its convene today at 1:15 pm, with five ordinances approved by the House of Representatives scheduled to be presented, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed five ordinances introduced by the government despite opposition’s protests. Of the six ordinances initially proposed, the government has agreed to put the Land-Related Ordinance on hold. The approved ordinances include Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Cooperatives, 2081, Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Economic and Business Reforms and Investment Promotion, 2081, Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081, Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Related to Good Governance Promotion and Public Service Delivery, 2081, and Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2081.

The Parliament Secretariat stated that the ordinances will be processed in accordance with National Assembly regulations.
