JANAKPUR, Aug 29: Demonstrators protesting the Supreme Court order to Parmananda Jha to take his oath of office in Nepali have burnt copies of Nagarik daily in Janakpur on Saturday.

The protestors burnt 25 copies of Nagarik daily after buying them from one Deepnarayan Sah’s stationery shop in Janak Chowk. They alleged that a news titled “Vice President Jha ready to take oath in Nepali” published in the daily’s Saturday edition had spread rumors.

District president of Madhesi Youth Forum Mukesh Yadav said by burning Nagarik they had not protested against the daily but warned all media to not create unnecessary rumors. “We haven’t burnt Nagarik only, but also some local newspapers,” Yadav said.
