Issuing a press statement here today, the NA Directorate of Public Relations said, "Since few days, some media have been disseminating very sensitive information regarding Nepal and its neighbors. As claimed by the media Gen Rana giving an exclusive interview to the Indian media was untrue.[break]
As Gen Rana did not give any kind of informal interview to any media during his visit to India, the news, therefore, about his remarks was totally out of context and baseless, adds the statement.
The NA is a professional, apolitical, disciplined institution that always adheres to the constitution of Nepal and follows the legitimate orders of the government. Therefore, NA would like to draw attention and inform all concerned that it is out of the question for the NA leadership to comment on such sensitive issues in public or in interviews, the statement adds.
The CoAS had visited India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart from September 29 to October 5. He returned home on Saturday.
