The tenure of the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be extended by charting out definite action plan and that the constitution can be framed within the extended timeframe, he added.
Nepali Congress is in favour of safeguarding the CA, he disclosed, adding that going for new election by accomplishing peace process and promulgation of the new constitution will be an appropriate way for the country.
It depends on the tendency of UCPN (Maoist) whether to extend up or hold the tenure of the CA, he argued, claiming constitution promulgation is not likely even during five year tenure of the CA till Maoists’ tendency is not clean.
Also speaking on the occasion were NC Lamjung President Krishna Koirala, former Minister of State Ram bahadur Gurung, former central member of Nepal Students’ Union Yuba Raj Pandey, among others.
Chairperson of Nepal Tarun Dal, Chandreswor Village Committee, Shiva Chand Bhandari presided over the programme.
