A meeting chaired by Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala on Wednesday decided to activate Monitoring Division of the ministry to follow up the budget implementation process. The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials of the ministry. [break]
Participants of the meeting univocally stressed the need to make the Monitoring Division more active in order to monitor and evaluate the implementation of development projects being carried out under different ministries.
On the occasion, Koirala expressed confidence that effective monitoring would make budget implementation process disciplined and transparent.
Speaking at the meeting, Finance Secretary Shanta Raj Subedi underlined the need to manage the authority and duties of different divisions under the ministry.
