KATHMANDU, March 27: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended warm congratulations to Nepal’s newly appointed Prime Minister Balendra Shah on assuming office.
In a congratulatory message, Modi said Shah’s appointment reflects the trust and confidence placed in his leadership by the people of Nepal. He also expressed optimism about working closely with the new government in Kathmandu.

“I look forward to working closely with you to take India-Nepal friendship and cooperation to even greater heights for the mutual benefit of our two peoples,” Modi said.
The message comes shortly after Shah was sworn in as Prime Minister, marking a new political chapter in Nepal. India and Nepal share long-standing historical, cultural and economic ties, and the Indian premier’s remarks signal continued engagement and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
