KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepal is currently under the partial influence of westerly and local winds.
At present, generally cloudy conditions are prevailing in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, while the remaining provinces are experiencing partly cloudy weather, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring in a few areas of Gandaki Province and in one or two places in Lumbini and Koshi provinces.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Koshi provinces. Partly cloudy conditions are likely to prevail in the remaining hilly, mountainous and Terai regions, the MFD said.
There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi Province; in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces; in the hilly and mountainous regions of Sudurpashchim Province; and in one or two places in Madhesh Province. Hailstorms are also likely in a few areas of Madhesh, Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Koshi provinces, while partly cloudy conditions are likely in the remaining hilly and Terai regions.
There is also a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in a few areas of Koshi Province and in some hilly and mountainous regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
The MFD has also forecast the possibility of windstorms in a few Terai areas of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.
