In the match that saw a player sent off from each team, Bishal Rai scored the decisive goal against his former team. Rai, the season´s new signing for MMC, netted four minutes from time to dash the hopes of Machhindra.
Machhindra midfielder Sushil KC was sent off in the 84th minute following a second yellow card while MMC defender Deepak Bhusal received his marching orders in the first minute of four minutes of stoppage time.
MMC had defeated Mohun Bagan´s academy team 1-0 in its first match and Bhutan´s champion Yeedzin FC 3-1 in the second match. MMC will lock horns with Arambagh Krira Sangh of Bangladesh in its last group match on Tuesday. Another Nepali team Laxmi Bank Three Star Club has already qualified for the semifinals from another group.
