According to a politburo member, the leaders have principally agreed to endorse Dahal´s political paper, which floats a national unity government to take the peace process to its logical end. “The party has also formed committees for financial transparency in the party,” a leader said, but he did not divulge the details.
Dahal also proposed the amendment to the statute as the party is all set to go for a seven-member collective leadership. A weeklong secretariat meeting on Tuesday had picked Dahal as the chairman, Mohan Baidya, Dr Baburam Bhattarai and Narayankaji Shrestha as vice chairs, Ram Bahadur Thapa as general secretary, and CP Gajurel and Posta Bahadur Bogati as secretaries.
