The local Maoists leaders have also issued strong directives to the farmers to deposit their harvest at the location of their choice.[break]
They went to the home of former Chairperson of Rajapur VDC and NC leader Binoddwaj Chand, Krishna Prasad Sigdel, former Minister Damandwaj Chand and landlords Ramdwaj Chand, Prem Nath Bahel and other farmers and warned them against carrying out the harvest without approval of Maoist cadres.
The victims own land in Rajapur, Badalpur, Bhimmapur and other VDCs in the district.
A few days ago too, armed police had to provide security after a group of Maoists went to the land owned by Prem Nath Bahel in Dalaigaon of Rajapur-1 and asked the farmer carrying out the harvest to divide the total harvest into three, give two parts to them and one to the farmer.
Even following the signing of the peace accord, more than 300 farmers in the district have not been able to enjoy their harvest due to the seizure by the Maoists.
The Maoists however have denied the claim and said it was the tillers who had taken control over the land.
