Koirala also urged the faction led by Sher Bahadur Deuba in the party to stop demanding appointment of a new PP leader. “There is no need to appoint a new PP leader. Madhav Kumar Nepal had been fielded as the UML´s prime ministerial candidate even when he was not the party´s PP leader,” she argued.
“I held a meeting with Deuba recently. He did not talk about appointment of a new PP leader,” she said.
Koirala also argued that the NC should not hesitate to join the current coalition if the party gets vital ministries. “It is much better if the NC can form a new government under its leadership. But it should not refuse to join the current coalition if it gets vital ministries,” she said.
Koirala also termed recent differences among the three rival factions in the UCPN (Maoist) a “drama”.
