Maoists form committee to probe Thaiba killing

KATHMANDU, April 7: The Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) has formed a three-member committee under the chairmanship of its secretariat member Barsa Man Pun to probe the alleged killing of CPN (UML) cadre Prachanda Thaiba by a cadre of the Maoist´s Young Communist League (YCL).



The other members in the team are Ekraj Bhandari and Lilaram Marasini. The UML has categorically stated that YCL cadre Sujit BK killed Thaiba in Butwal some two weeks ago. The UML, a major coalition partner in the government, has warned that it won´t let the parliament conduct its regular activities until Thaiba’s “murderer” has been arrested. Chairman of the team Pun said the team will give directives to BK for courting arrest.
