“Allowing us to bring a resolution motion against the president´s unconstitutional move in the legislature-parliament to rectify it and amending the constitution so that the president could not be autocratic in future will pave the way for an immediate solution to the current crisis. If not, we will launch a decisive struggle that will obliterate the regressive and status quoist forces from the pages of history,” said Dr Bhattarai while speaking at a function in Kathmandu organized to exchange greetings on the occasion of Dashain festival.
He added that the mass movement to be launched by the Maoists would be of higher kind and different from the 10-year old “People´s War” and 19-day Mass Movement. According to Dr Bhattarai, the Maoist struggle could even be violent. He said the struggle would be protracted if it became violent and short if it became peaceful.
Dr Bhattarai said that the current struggle is between the proletariat at one side and the regressive and status quoists forces, backed by foreigners, on the other.
Also speaking at the function, Maoist General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa said that the word “abnormal” aptly depicts the current political picture of Nepal. He said the current politics would move ahead in two ways: dismissing the demand for civilian supremacy in a fascist manner and launching decisive movement against the "regressive and status quoist" forces. “The new security policy has been implemented in a fascist manner to suppress the people´s representatives,” he said.
He said that the decisive movement launched by the party would sweep away the regressive forces and bring new solutions to the problem. He also argued that the country is witnessing new political polarization in favor of the Maoists.
