Dr KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon and professor at Institute of Medicine (IOM), has been staging fast-unto-death at the hospital since seven days putting forth various demands.
During the meet, the Maoist leaders expressed solidarity toward his demands.
Speaking to media, Bhattarai said that Dr KC’s demands should be addressed at the soonest clamping down on mafia and privatization.

“Government shouldn’t prioritize privatization,” he said, “It should run medical colleges on its own if it sees need of such colleges at certain places.”
Expressing worries over KC’s degrading heath condition, Bhattarai demanded the government address his demands and end the hunger strike.
Dr KC said, “All should be serious on heath of 30 billion Nepalis. That the reason for my strike.”
Likewise, UPCN (Maoist) vice-chairman Shrestha said he will talk with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala today apropos KC’s demands.

The 10-point demand put forth by Dr KC include action against officials, who were implicated by a probe committee, implementation of the report submitted by the committee for feasibility study of a medical university, formulation of a national policy on medical education.
He has also demanded establishment of medical colleges in rural areas.
