Manang Marshyandi defeats United Sikkim

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) defeated United Sikkim 6-2 in an extra time drama on Thursday to secure final berth in the King´s Cup Football Tournament being held in Thimpu Bhutan.



MMC netted four goals in the extra 30 minute following 2-2 draw in the regulation time. African player Yona Elias Ndbila starred for MMC in the additional half an hour netting a hat-trick. Sulav Maskey, deposed from the national team came on Saturday netted other goal. Earlier, former Indian captain Baichung Bhutia´s United Sikkim had came from two goals deficit in the second half to force the match for extra time. [break]



MMC will take on the winner of the second semifinal match to be played bteween Nepal´s Laxmi Bank Three Star Club and Bhutan´s champion Yeedzin FC in the final to be played on Sunday.
