After more than a week of investigation into the incident that took place on September 28 when the country was observing Vijaya Dashami, police have concluded that Pawan Sundar Adhikari killed his wife Kavita because she addressed him without the honorific following a minor dispute.
Inspector Kamal Giri of Area Police Office, Kohalpur, who is investigating the murder, said Adhikari killed his wife by strangling her neck after the dispute. The incident took place when there was no one in the neighborhood. So, Adhikari tried to cover up the incident by saying that robbers had come to his house and they killed her.
"We arrested Pawan three days after the incident and learnt about the reality during interrogation," Giri said. "We also found out that after killing his wife, Pawan took out her ornaments from the cupboard that threw them on the field."
He threw the ornaments on the field to support his claim that looters had arrived in his house and they killed his wife. Adhikari has been detained at the District Police Office.
