Man held for trying to rape minor

DHARAN, Oct 12: A 54-year-old man has been arrested for trying to rape a minor on Monday.



Santosh Rai of Railway, Dharan-17 was arrested for trying to rape a nine-year-old girl, luring her with a promise of money while her parents were away, police said. Rai has admitted to the charge, according to Sub-inspector Rewat Adhikari at the Area Police Office, Dharan.



Meanwhile, two persons including a police constable, arrested for raping a 14-year-old girl three weeks ago, have been sent into judicial custody after being presented before Sunsari District Court Monday.



Constable Suresh Kumar Sah and Dipesh Karki of Dharan-17, arrested for the rape on September 14, have been sent to the regional jail at Jhumka.
