During the session, Finance Minister Bhattarai presented the principles and priorities for the Appropriation Bill 2083, which will guide the upcoming budget and programmes.
The government said the new budget will focus on better use of available resources, creating an investment-friendly environment, and reducing multidimensional poverty. It also prioritises governance reforms, technology-friendly administration, and agricultural development under the “Made in Madhesh” and “Prosperous Madhesh” initiatives.
The minister also announced plans to discourage fragmented projects and instead focus resources on provincial pride projects. The existing “Beti Bachau, Beti Padhau” programme will be revised with scholarships for girls in science and technology, while full health insurance access will be expanded for extremely poor and Dalit communities.
The provincial assembly has been adjourned until Friday.
