Machhapuchhre Cup from June 26

POKHARA, June 24: Machhapuchhre Cup football tournament, one of the oldest football tournaments outside the capital, is beginning on June 26 in Bhairahawa, Rupandehi.



“Twelve clubs have applied so far for the tournament, however the number of the teams can go up” the secretary of the Rupandehi Football Association, Dipak Thapa, said, adding, "This tournament should have been organized two years ago as per schedule, but we failed due to lack of funds”.



The winner will get Rs 30,000 and the runner up will get Rs 15,000. The matches will be played at Siddhartha Stadium, Bhairahawa.
