SINDHUPALCHOWK, Feb 1: Locals of Sindhupalchowk have blocked the Arniko Highway on Wednesday protesting the murder of a local in an accident.
Demanding the compensation, the relatives of the deceased have disrupted the Bandeu-Tatopani and Lamosanghu-Jiri road sections.
Hundreds of passengers and public vehicles have been stranded on the road.
On Tuesday, pillon rider Lila Shrestha was killed on the spot when a motorcycle (Ba 31 Pa 3947) was hit by a passenger bus (Ba 2 Kha 3643), informed Inspector Sujan Kumar Rajbhandari, District Police Office.
Meanwhile, a meeting of district security committee is taking place to resolve the matter, Rajbhandari said.
