The lightning arrester that the company launched Friday comes in four different types: Stormaster - ESE 10, Stormaster - ESE 15, Stormaster - ESE 30, Stromaster - ESE 50 and Stormaster - ESE 60. Their price ranges from Rs 70,000 to Rs 200,000.[break]

“Now, the people can easily avoid the possible damages and escape life-threatening risks by merely installing an equipment called Early Streamer Emission (ESE) Air Terminal - commonly known as lightning arrester,” said Ashik Byanjakar, technical & marketing officer, B and B Inc.
If a consumer wants, the company can fix the lightning arrester on the rooftop of his house with the help of earthing electrode rod and that will provide all protection against lightning.
The company has also launched a promotion campaign in the Kathmandu Valley under which it is educating the people about the risks of lightning, how to reduce this risk, and how they can completely protect themselves from such risks.

Under the campaign, the company has featured different types of electromagnetic equipment such as surge protection device class A, which helps protect electromagnetic devices like television, LDC monitors and computers from lightning effects. This device costs Rs 65,000. Likewise, surge protection device 3-phase class B, which provides similar protection costs Rs 25,000.
“These devices are placed at the highest point of the buildings or towers and when the lightning strikes, they dissipate its energy to ground through down conductors,” said Byanjakar.
The device can protect the buildings and people residing inside them within the radius of 35-120 meters of lightning strike.
“Similar device - Stormaster ESE 10, on the other hand, is designed for communication and electrical transmission towers and they provide more reliable system for protecting the transmission equipment on telecommunication and other towers,” Byanjankar told Republica.
