At an interaction organized by the Education Journalists´ Group in the capital, coordinator of education department of the Nepali Congress, Chandra Bhandari, expressed concern over the disappointing condition of Sanskrit University in Nepal although the Sanskrit was spreading as progressive education in developed countries.
He said his party was for promoting schools as zone of peace, respecting students´ rights to education.
Similarly, leader of the CPN-United Ganesh Saha suggested that a network of former ministers should be formed to help implement the concept of schools as zone of peace.
Joint General Secretary of Tarai Madhesi Loktantrik Party, Jitendra Sonal said the indifference of government and social irresponsibility have also enfeebled the commitment of schools as zone of peace.
Chief of Education Department of the CPN-Maoist, Rekha Sharma, said it was natural that schools could be disturbed at a time all other sectors were disturbed, but efforts were needed from all sides to maintain peace in schools.
Secretary at the education department of the CPN-UML, Chaityanya Sharma, said political parties must discipline themselves to ensure peace in schools.
UCPN-Maoist central member Dharma Dutt Baskota said peace should be ensured in society, which would help make schools zone of peace.
