Ms Khatun filed her candidacy at the Bara District Election Office with much fanfare today in a tight security under the command of DSP Nabaraj Adhikari. [break]
UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, Senior Leader Madav Kumar Nepal and leader KP Oli, who had been to Bara district to attend Alam´s final rites, had advised Nejma to file the candidacy.
Khatun has been actively working as a member of the CPN-UML Regional Committee and the All Nepal Women’s Association, Bara Chapter.
An unidentified motor-cycle borne gang had shot Alam dead at Lipanimal VDC-4 two days after he filed his candidacy in Bara district.
He had passed away while undergoing treatment at TU Teaching Hospital on October 10.
