KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Nepal U-19 cricket team member Sandeep Lamichhane has been named in the ICC’s Future Stars XI with the conclusion of the ICC U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh on February 14. The ICC official website, has named him at the 11th position of the Future Stars XI. West Indies’ Gidron Pope, who helped his side win the maiden world cup, is in the top position. Nepal finished eighth in the competition. However, Sandeep left his mark in the world cup as he became the second highest wicket-taker, his legspin yielding him 14 wickets in six outings with best figures of 5 for 27. He also completed a hat-trick against Ireland and became the fifth bowler in the history of the tournament to achieve that feat.
