Lama leads girls' 10m air rifle

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Nisha Lama of Gyan Mandir School, Dhanusha led the girls´ 10m air rifle event in the Third Inter-school Shooting Championship on Sunday. Lama scored 194 points to top the leader-board, with her schoolmate Ashika Shrestha trailing in second position with 192 points. Kantipur School´s Rabina Niraula, who was on top of the table after scoring 191 points on the first day on Saturday, slipped to third position.[break]



In the girls´ 10m air pistol event, Sujata Rai of Army School is on top with 179 points. Arya Shrestha of GEMS also accumulated 179 points but Rai edged her on the basis of bull´s eye scores. Joylasha Shrestha of GEMS is third with 178 points.



Likewise, Bikas Rai of Budhanilkantha took the lead in boys´ 10m air rifle. Rai garnered 195 points in the event held at the Satdobato Shooting Range. Pratik Karki (193 points) and Raj Kumar Karki (192 points) of Kantipuri are in the second and third positions respectively.



In the boys´ 10m air pistol event, Diwas Bohara (190 points) of British Gurkha, Arish Maharjan (188 points) of United and Saurav Neupane (184 points) of Kantipuri occupy the top three spots.



The winners of all the events will be decided after the last rounds on Monday.
