Likewise, Samyak Bhusan Bajracharya of Shuvatara, Aryan Giri of Ullens, Saharsha Chand of Kasthamandap, Avinav Acharya of LA and Sulav Dhital, Ashish Karki, Prashant Basnet and Deepesh Khatri of Nepal Police School won their respective matches in the U-12 boys´ section.
Host Xavier, Saipal win titles
KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Host Xavier International and Saipal won the boys´ and girls´ titles respectively in the Xavier Inter-college +2 (U-19) Basketball Tournament on Sunday. Xavier defeated Trinity 75-61 to take the boys´ title while Saipal saw off Golden Gate 50-41 in the girls´ final. In the boys´ final, Binesh Neupane and Ranal Sherchan netted 23 points each for the host to seal a 15-8, 13-19, 19-16, 28-18 victory.
Neupane was declared the most valuable player. In the girls´ title clash, Shanti Shrestha netted the highest 15 points in Saipal´s win over Golden Gate. Upama Pokharel of Saipal was declared the most valuable player. Altogether 23 teams -- 16 in boys´ and seven in girls´ sections -- had competed in the tournament.
