BIRATNAGAR, July 8: The Koshi Province Assembly on Wednesday passed the Appropriation Bill for fiscal year 2026/27, which makes provisions for allocation and expenditure from the province’s consolidated fund for services and operations. The bill was endorsed by a majority of Provincial Assembly members.
Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Bidur Kumar Lingthep, had tabled the proposal seeking passage of the bill. Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista presented it as the decision of the assembly after majority approval.
Gandaki Province passes appropriation bill with majority votes
Earlier, a proposal to reduce expenses under different headings of the bill, presented by assembly members Gombu Sherpa and Sapana Darji, was rejected by majority vote.
Similarly, the assembly also passed the Bill to Implement the Economic Proposal of Koshi Province Government, 2083 without opposition. Minister Lingthep had tabled the proposal, which was endorsed by Speaker Bista as the assembly’s decision.
The meeting of the Koshi Province Assembly has been postponed until further notice.
