Speaking at a program organized by Nepal Press Union here, Prez Koirala accused the UCPN (Maoist) of being a stumbling block to the formation of national consensus government despite his party’s utmost effort for it.[break]
“Pushpa Kamal Dahahl and Baburam Bhattarai are the obstacles for the consensus as they have been changing their stances time and again,” Koirala argued.
He further predicted that such tendency of the Maoist leaders would bring early downfall of their party.
He also blamed the Maoist for failing to bring a full and timely budget in the country.
In a separate context, NC chief Koirala expressed his reluctance to be the prime minster.
“I had an opportunity in the past to become prime minister but my priority is strengthening of democracy and the rule of law in the country, not the PM post,” he said.
On the occasion, Koirala also stressed on holding the new elections, instead of reinstating the dissolved Constituent Assembly.
