They were awarded on the basis of last year´s work performance, states a press statement issued by NSC. Both of them bagged a purse of Rs 25,000 each.[break]
Likewise, senior boxing coach Prachanda Sharma and Far Western Region Sports Development Committee´s account officer Dharma Raj Ojha were awarded the Best Employee Awards. They received Rs 15,000 each.
Meanwhile, Kaski District Sports Development Committee´s volleyball coach Kaushila Khatri and NSC Secretariat´s security guard Laxman Mahato bagged the Service Awards carrying a purse of Rs 10,000.
Three of the six recipients are staffers of NSC administration.
Minister for Youth and Sports Ram Kumar Shrestha, who is also the chairman of the NSC, and NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama handed over the awards on the final day of the golden jubilee celebration.
Journalist duo Bishnuhari Ghimire of Kantipur Television and Ramsudan Timalsina of Rajdhani was also felicitated during the occasion.
The NSC also gave letter of appreciation to 87 employees for their long-term service to the sports governing. Among them, 51 have been serving for the last 25 years while 36 have been working at NSC for the last 20 years.
General Secretary of the NSC Employees´ Association, Fanindra Poudel, announced that the association will soon establish employees´ welfare fund of Rs 200,000.
Winners of various sporting events held during the golden jubilee were also awarded on the closing day.
Security guard Laxman Chaudhary (men´s 3km race), Kumari Nagarkoti (women´s 3km race) and Kathmandu District Sports Development Committee (tug-of-war) had won gold medals.
